COVID-19 Update
At Benchmark National Moorebank, we are thinking of all the people who have been affected by COVID-19 and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, governments and all working on the front line to contain the virus. We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated in every way we can.
Good news – we can still assist you with your property needs! Our offices are still open for business however we are exercising precautions and limiting face-to-face interactions.
Can I still sell my home?
Yes. As agents, we have adapted to the new restrictions and are well-equipped to continue to list and sell properties.
I am interested in buying. How can I inspect a property that is for sale with your agency?
To organise an inspection, please contact us at the office on 9822 4333 to arrange your scheduled private inspection.
Will one-on-one inspections increase my family;s chance of contracting the virus?
The Australian government says that as long as all recommended measures such as social distancing and hygiene are observed, it is safe to proceed with private home inspections.
What should I do if I can;t make my mortgage repayments?
Most banks are allowing customers to pause their loan repayments if they are experiencing financial hardship. Contact your broker to discuss this. You may be eligible for the governments stimulus package. Contact the National Debt Hotline for free financial advice.
Can I still hire a removalist?
Simply, yes. Removalists are considered an essential service (transport and logistics) and are still operating. Most moving companies have changed the way they do business to adhere to social distancing measures. Most companies have made one big change being the no-contact move where homeowners are now largely restricted fromhelping out on moving day.
Can I move interstate during this time?
Interstate movement is largely restricted at the moment. Removalists and residents (inclusive of potential residents) can apply for a pass to cross the border. However, on arrival, individuals are required to self-isolate for 14 days. With rules continuing to change, it is best to refer to the official quarantine conditions page.
Can I keep building a house that;s already begun?
Yes, but work site environments have changed to adhere to social distancing and hygiene measures. Building and construction companies are setting up their own safe work practices. Homeowners should be prepared for possible delays with reduced staff.
Is it wise to buy a property unseen?
It is not unheard of, but it is extremely rare. There are cases where it happens, especially investors who have done their calculations, have had professional building and pest inspectors or their financial advisor do a walk-through of the property. For homebuyers, inspecting the property is highly recommended.
